This is a tough one The best reason I could give to sum up why is that this book read like Part 2 except it wasn t It was like coming in after all the the story had been told and then being expected to understand the aftermath It felt like it was assumed we knew and cared about Claire and Stefan and what led to the couple being separated in the first lace All there was to go on were cryptic and maddening clues that they had once been very happy and then Stefan became an arsehole Flashbacks can be overdone but would REALLY have helped this story immensely It s hard to connect to the characters or feel invested in their story when the writer leaves out the most vital The Brother-Offended Checklist partsTo me the story felt shallow and very sterile Halfway in I began skipping ahead to find something meaningful that would connect me but it just wasn t there Very frustrating Stefan was the better fleshed out of the characters while Claire was inconsistent and too back and forth uite honestly I wanted to slap her She hasn t seen or spoken to him in 6 months and wants nothing to do with him but takes him in when he s inexplicably left with amnesia She doesn t want him in her home but gets upset when he doesn t make a move on her He makes a move and she gets upset and flees She can never be with him again but spends the whole night having sex and dreaming of a future while he makes breakfastShe s impossibly erratic and honestly not very likeable in the firstlace The story of their demise and the reason for Stefan s memory loss are crammed into the last 4% of the book and by then I so couldn t give a shite I felt cheated on this one It could have been spectacular but was oorly executed It didn t even end well but rather abruptly and with a lot of glaring loose threads For example neither character s family wanted them together Significant scenes were devoted to show that Claire s mother and sister cautioned her not to fall for him again and of course she wasn t going to do that she was just helping him Whatevs Stefan s arents were OTT caricatures of controlling Detour (Something in Common, parents who hated Claire and thought her a gold digger The groundwork was laid for confrontation with the antagonists but then the book ended and leaves all the conflicts unresolved The best choice would have been to never introduce them in the firstlaceThis writer clearly bit off than she could chew It was a great マジック・ツリーハウス〈1〉恐竜の谷の大冒険 premise but it was obvious she had no idea how to make it work and then rushed to end it Too bad because as I statedreviously this book had so much Bear Creek Road potential It wasn t badly written it just badly missed the mark By Nina BlakePublished By Harleuin EscapeAge Recommended AdultReviewed By Arlena Great story line and I really cared about these characters The H s family left a lot to be desired The h s mother and sister were veryrotective but also seemed to not trust that she would be able to deal with her own choices The relationship between the H and h had obviously changed a lot recently which culminated in their separation For the H developing amnesia was one of the most Spellbound positive things that could have happened to him Perhaps it was fate that showed him what his life was really like and without his denial demonstrated that he had lost everything He saw clearly with amnesia than he did with his memories The h was very cautious very cautious It was interesting that she responded to the H s needs and took time off work to assist him with his new reality It also seemed that she was getting glimpses of themselves when their relationship was good YesI love second chance books They ve been separated for 6 months and his character wakes one morning to find that he doesn t know who he is or where he is She s still his wife and steps in to help him They loved each otherassionately until he didn t and left her He gets to see what kind of man he was with an unbiased eye She gets to see the man he was before things started to go bad She still lives him he s falling in love with herMy only criticism is the ending seems rushed needing information and an epilogue Claire and Stefan were married over five years but the relationship began to break down and now they ve been separated for six months No contact no Cant Fake This phone calls nothing until Claire receives ahone call that Stefan is in the hospital After an unknown accident he is suffering retrograde amnesia which means that he doesn t know who Claire is He doesn t recognise his own family and he doesn t even know a single thing about himself all of the information from his law degree is gone He has no one to look after him and help him readjust and cope so Claire takes two weeks leave from her job working in legal aid and moves Stefan back into the apartment they once shared Their marriage might be over but Claire is not the type of Writing Myths person to let someone suffer And she loved him onceStefan was a highly ambitious lawyer before his accident and before their marriage breakdown they had grown apart Stefan spending long hours working Now that he s not working he s back to being like the sweet and thoughtful man she married whichoses a bit of a danger to Claire Her mother and her sister have their reservations about her letting Stefan back into her life but Claire refuses to listen Even though the attraction is building between them again she thinks that this time around she can handle it She can have a few moments with Stefan the real Stefan before she says a final goodbyeBut things are never that easy The time that Claire spends with Stefan the harder it s going to be to say goodbye And the time that Stefan spends with Claire the he wonders what was wrong with him in his revious life to give up all of this The corporate law world holds no interest for him in his current state and he can t see how he was ever art of such a cutthroat scene But if Claire and Stefan are ever going to move on they need to face the catalyst for the marriage breakdown and their very different ways of Paying Daddys Debt processing it Claire can t forget how cruel Stefan was and Stefan can t remember what even caused Claire s hurt Claire is sure that when Stefan s memory returns he ll remember exactly how he felt about her at the end and she ll be left alone againI love amnesia stories They were uiteopular in some of the old Harleuin stories I used to read as a teenager and they ve been used to success in other genres as well They can be regarded as a tired old trope but I still love them Nothing gets me wanting to read a book faster than hearing the word amnesia in the blurb And I tend to be even hook. Memory of who he is what he wants and the wife he left behindClaire’s compassion leads her to caring for Stefan Though he is back to being the thoughtful affectionate man she fel.

Ed when it s the male character that is afflicted It Stripes of Gehenna places them in aosition of vulnerability that women usually find themselves in and I enjoy that role switchIn this one Stefan wakes up and has no idea where he is or who he is He finds a Cheerleader For Hire police station and is admitted to hospital for tests and it is close to a week before they find his estranged wife and she comes to visit him and take him back to her apartment when he is ready to be discharged Stefan begins to learn a lot about his life what he did for a living where he was from his education his family his background and he finds the answers somewhat lacking He remembers nothing of law and finds little interest in it and theeople he works with when he goes to see them What he wants is to spend time with Claire but it s uite clear to Stefan that although there s lots of feeling there there s Time Slips pain too And he doesn t know why or how to broach the topicI applauded Claire for wanting to do the right thing but at times I really did uestion the necessity of having Stefan stay with her in the apartment He had his ownlace that he d acuired after they separated and he moved out he was still an adult and I wouldn t have seen it as too difficult for him to go back there He can cook he knows how to use a hone if he needed her Having him in the same apartment did wonderful things for the feelings to re surge and the sexual tension but as a woman who d been significantly hurt by this man and then basically abandoned by him I uestioned why she would open herself up to of the same from him Claire bluntly states that when he regains his memory she s sure that he ll just feel exactly the same way he did when they separated and leave her again It seemed a little bit too much self sacrificing She was still hurting deeply and she believed that Stefan wasn t hurting at allHowever I also did feel Claire s desire to have a little bit time with the man she remembered being married to and I think that Stefan s repressed feelings were dealt with rather well It s hard to really convey a man s grief because they re expected to often be the strong ones real men don t cry and all that I think that it s difficult to write a reconciliation story because you must show the reader why the characters separated in the first lace and often Stormy Waters (Dar and Kerry, people are at their worst when they re going through something like that They say and do horrible things and then it can be hard to refocus on their real selves without remembering the barbs and taunts and indifference I think I d have liked a little time spend on Stefan at the end of the book and his coming to terms with and admitting his grief over what had happened to them It did feel a bit rushed especially with the way that his memorylayed outHowever I did really enjoy this book and it kept my interest in amnesia story lines alive This starts with the hero waking up on a Passage of the Republic park bench not remembering anything He had been robbed and mugged and he didn t know who he was Clare his estranged wife was notified and she comes toick him up They had been separated for six months He had his own A Patriots History of the United States place and they lived apart She loved him but he had hurt her terribly by asking for a divorceShe had suffered a miscarriage and was grieving not only the loss of her marriage but also a child You don t know until the last two chapters basically why he left There was a woman he worked with that I worried he was sleeping with but thank goodness he wasn t He actually really loved his wife but his grief caused him toush her away and he buried himself in work I liked how he didn t like the The Vow people he worked with after his head injury He saw their superficiality and coldness Same thing with his family It was eye opening to him I loved that he had bought her a teddy bear the day he was hurt and was heading back to her It was a good book I loved that he was faithful and I am glad they got their HEA 4 StarsThis was such an unexpected but great story If there was an epilogue and closure with his family this would be a solid 5 syar read I will look for books by this author GapsI love stories about marriage trouble marriage on the rocks or just marriage in general Stefan had an amnesia and forgot what exactly happened to their marriage and why they separated It was only towards the end that it was fully discussed I don t like flashbacks but this one in my opinion could have used it Maybe on h sov sOverall I enjoyed the story and I read this one a long while back and decided to re read My 3 star has not changed I liked it but missed opportunities for really good or great H s family is horrible the reason for H moving out and not contacting h for 6 months after miscarriage was somewhat lame He did not contact her at all and continued in his high Curse of Freemasonry powered career hanging with co workers etc While his new abode is minimalist with noersonality it did not impress me that this is the sign he missed her and considered returning to he. L in love with she can’t let herself get too involved The instant Stefan’s memory comes back he’ll remember who he was and what he really wants– and it’s not ClaireOr is.

Nina Blake didn’t learn English until she went to school however that didn’t stand in the way of her love of reading Unlike many other authors when she was growing up her house was never full of books and as a teenager her mother told her she read too much As if such a thing was possibleShe was lucky enough to meet the man of her dreams when she was at university Though it wasn’t love at fir
