He killer was so soon It would have been better to keep readers guessing in my opinion The one issue I have about this book is that within numerous spots throughout the story the writing switches from past to present tense with the interjection of a narrative voice I thought it disrupted the natural flow of the story though not nough to render it unenjoyable The characters are realistic and relatable On Such a Full Sea each with their share of strengths and weaknesses Ispecially liked Piper The Hello, Hippo! Goodbye, Bird! ending broughtverything together nicely and though bittersweet it was good and satisfying DNFI think I ll be keeping it save for a while and reading authors I know I can trust who I know can deliver This time my search for a new thrillersuspense author was unsuccessful I mean what was I thinking You read the book title then look at the cover you immediately think of FTSoG The reason I decided to give it a shot was because the reviews said that the cover is misleading that the book is so much And it is oh boy it is I still couldn t find anything that kept my attentionIn the very beginning of the book the author presented so many issues that I didn t know what to think of it or knew where this story was going And the ideas were uite outdated in my opinion Issue 1 There is a creep on the loose stalking a woman at the night club It s all dandy until you get to read his thoughts She looks so sweet doesn t she But she s not all that innocent believe me What woman who looks for fun in a nightclub is right You don t take her home to meet mother She wears her sexuality like a personal ID card Cannibal easy to read and passed around a lotI realise that he s a weirdo that s his role in the story But it s not his views of the women that got me rolling myyes It s the fact that I was reading this in 2016 Maybe back in the 80 s that would ve gotten a different reaction out of me but today Think outside the box for crying out loud This sort of character has been written and re written for the passed 3 decades Issue 2 An infant has been stolen from a hospital Issue 3 Abusive mother and her s approval seeking daughter Issue 4 Heroine s relationship with her boyfriend It seems to be perfect but in the next chapter you are given a very lousy Mastered (The Enforcers, explanation of why itnded Issue 5 The heroine losing her job and it being a big deal I get that it s a big deal in real life but I had no clue why it was significant to the story Issue 6 Heroine and her best friend could pass for doppelgangers I felt like the story should ve started here that the previous pages upon pages of useless information was completely uninteresting and irrelevant Issue 7 Heroine s best friend is a poor Man, Son of Man excuse for a mother She abandoned her kid for Not sure whatxactly At first one thinks that she wanted to make a better life for herself and her kid but then you read and find out that her parents are loaded and are taking care of her kid Her BFF invites her to spend time with her family saying she misses her kid which she hasn t seen for a year or is it two Then you read the h s inner monologue where she says something among the lines of All she is going to do is party How about the kid that she has missed so much What is the point of this information anywayI DNFed the book after thisSo here are the main things that made me to DNF this gem Too many problems in the very beginning of the book the fact that the author failed to show a reader how all of it connects The heroine of the book doesn t seem to know what she is or what she wants She associates herself with people she despises without realizing the fact like her mother She has zero of self reflection I m only guessing here but I think her friend will be kidnapped because she looks like her and with that will come a whole new set of obstacles that might or might not make senceI m once again looking at the cover and thinking of what I ve read What the fuck is this book about Who s abs is the woman in the picture rubbing Boyfriend s Kidnapper s Or is the cover like a lot of the information in the book is completely random and irrelevantI rather go and watch the Days of Our Lives What a yawnfes. The nine women appear one by one in seuence on the TV screen she is positively sure that she's met five of the women a week before their deaths Coincidence Is there a connection Time is now a countdown to the moment she can identify the killer and xpose him But in the midst of this dangerous plight she finds herself in she learns that someone has taken Shelly A muffled voice over the phone claims responsibility; and it's not the Silk Stocking Serial Killer who's daring her to come rescue her frie.

Originally posted on my blog Live Laugh Love BooksOkay so this book somehow got lost in my never nding inbox and I have FINALLY gotten around to reading it I thank the author Groovy Lee for being super awesome about it So here goesThe synopsis of the book really intrigued me and when I got started on the book I just couldn t put it down I really liked Piper but she did seem to lack some common sense but that didn t really draw me away from the story to badly I just love what this book is about and the mphasis on personal choices and love is just astounding I do feel that the cover tends to make people think it s a steamy love kinda book but that s not what this book is about Just to let you all know OHHH and you might want to have tissues ready for the nding I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING Overall it was Uncommon Wisdom enjoyable and I m glad I got the chance to read itI received a complimentary copy of the book inxchange for a fair and honest review My book blog Lee had me hooked from the prologue There s the old saying don t judge a book by it s cover and I m glad in this case that I didn t the cover to me indicates that this book is towards the Unseen City erotica side of things but Groovy Lee has very much written a thriller that chases a serial killerwith added romance in there tooI found the book reallyasy to get in to Art easy to follow and the pace of thevents within the book was brilliant Lee never stopped introducing new God Is in the Crowd elements to the story and that had me turning the pages until before I knew it the book was over Lee has successfully written about the differentffects of child abuse brilliantly a difficult topic for most to read about let alone write aboutWhile the serial killer comes to light about half way through the book it didn t mean that Lee left herself with nowhere Attracting Songbirds to Your Backyard else to go unlike other books I ve read She kept the story building up throughout and it didn t stop until the very last page The biggest shock for me of this book is that Lee had me reaching for the tissues in the very last two chapters It was incrediblymotional and the way it was written with the perfect delicacy it reuiredIt is a really brilliant story and I would recommend you read it Piper is fleeing from her difficult childhood when fortune finds her in the form of her best friend Shelly Moving to California with her Piper was certain was the best decision she had made Especially when she laid her yes on Shelly s cousin Oz who seemed to be made in Adonis s own image However with a Silk Stocking Serial Killer on the loose who was killing very woman Piper came into contact with and blank calls from a creep with a fake British accent Piper s summer she was afraid was beginning to turn too hot to handle First things first this book is one sitting readThe prologue sends a chill up your spine before leading into a story that is gripping and moves rapidly The characterisation is vivid and characters are introduced and forgotten in a flash It is as wholesome Notes for the Everlost entertainment as watching a whodunit marathon on TV on a hot summer afternoon Yes the prose is amateurish and the dialogue is not subtle There are moments when the description of the male lead will remind you of those stolen Mills and Boons read under the blanket at night when you were 12 But while those made me want to throw something at the wall here I would just shake my head indulgently because our leading lady is no swooning princess Instead she knees a guy in the groin fights off an attacking psycho and whacks another on the head until he drops I didn t mind because the book didn t promise to take me on anxotic journey like my last read It only invited me along for a fun rollercoaster ride and that it delivered irrevocably I had a lot of fun riding with Piper Also if you one of those people who stands in a railway or airport bookstore before boarding and searches for the perfect companion This book is made for those times It s When I Moan (Vassi and Seri 1: Russian Stepbrother Romance) easy to read simple to follow and you llnjoy it all the way Check out of my reviews at I really think this is a great book I felt it is well written and a great story line and plot Great characters as well I love. D getting back to this book whenever I could I don t want to say much of the story because I would want you to have as close of an xperience as I did which was a great one I will be reading books by this author I Attracting Birds to Your Backyard enjoyed reading this book The difference between how two of the characters turned out after terrible childhoods is breathtaking I loved the personalities ofach character and how their relationships morphed as the book went on I loved to hate the killer and was leased that they turned out to be on my list of suspects I loved the mphasis placed on love personal choices and innocence seeing through all the facades we put up around ourselves I felt like the cover was scandalous than reuired for the content Its a fast paced story that made me find and adapt ideas from the book to real world concepts while still letting me drift away The idea for this book came out of the simple fact that I m a BIG Prince fan in fact I m his number one fan So the story of Cause She s A Good Girl grew from my admiration of his beauty and talent One of the main characters Oz Jamison was modeled after him and that s one of the reasons the story came to life Author Dean Kootnz also inspired this book Piper Banion got the short straw in the lottery of life Stuck with an abusive mother who can find nothing redeemable in her hard working studious daughter she manages to stay true to her own moral compass Faced the knowledge her mother has done something horrible she turns her in and her life changes direction Piper becomes friends with the daughter of a wealthy couple This propels her into the lap of luxury and perhaps the arms of her friend s handsome cousin However all is not what it seems and Piper will land in the middle of a serial killer s spree leaving the reader to wonder if she will become the next victim This is a book about choices and staying true to your sense of values There are a few twists that make the book both interesting as well as a page turner A bad review would stop most readers to download a book right Nowrong Never let a bad review stand between you and your own free willcommon sense because you might just let a good book slip between your fingers I am glad I ve downloaded and read this book I am one of those reviewers who are proud to give honest reviews and only give praise when praise is due The book is well written and the characters are believable Grab your tissues as an unexpected twist at the nd of this story will have you in tears too I would recommend this book to readers who love thrillersromanticsuspense books I won a copy of this book through an giveaway and was Bird-by-Bird Gardening excited to give it a try First let me just say that the cover does not match the story I wasxpecting of a psychological thrillerdark romance type of book I think I would classify it as a mysterythriller novel Whatever the classification I m happy to report that I truly The Works of Saint Augustine enjoyed the storyTeenager Piper Banion comes from a single parent home with an abusive mother After she notifies the authorities about a terrible crime her mother Connie has committed she is hailed a hero but soon flees her hometown in search of anonymity Five years later Piper is living with her good friend Shelly when she she learns that Connie has been released from prison for good behavior Having little doubt that her mother would still be seething with rage Piper accepts Shelly s invitation to head to her hometown in CaliforniaIt turns out that Shelly is from an affluent family and has a five year old daughter whom she left in the care of her parents Piper is welcomed into the family home with open arms and begins to bond with Shelly s family members including her Prince lookalike cousin nicknamed OzThough in sunny California now things aren t as picture perfect as it seems A serial killer is on the loose in the area Then Piper starts receiving strange phone calls Is there a connection Soon Piper suspects that she may know the identity of the killer But that knowledge may very wellndanger her lifeThe story is well paced and very Unbuttoning the CEO (The Suits Undone entertaining though to be honest I wish that the author didn t reveal who S now And along with that comes a bit ofxcitement in the form of Oz Shelly’s cousin who looks just like Prince a headache inducing fact he’s reminded of often And like ninety nine percent of the women in Destin California Piper has fallen for him As she spends those lazy days peeking around walls and from behind the kitchen door admiring him her attention is soon captured by those Special News Bulletins showcasing the latest murder victim of the Silk Stocking Serial Killer When the faces of.
