I love the way Ellis Peters writes her Cadfael series and was in need of a new book The writing style is similar but rather verbose She was still introducing characters and setting the scene in Chapter 6 However once the actual murder investigation got going it was much better In a traditional Agatha Christie twist I guessed the murderer wrong so that was a nice surprise Not too impressed with CID Felse though he was hardly in the book 4 stars This was an old book that I was rereading and it was a very good li. This I like Ellis Peters other series the Brother Cadfael mysteries but I don t always take to an author s other works This was a rather cozy standalone British mystery Very When I Moan (Vassi and Seri 1: Russian Stepbrother Romance) enjoyable very thought provoking One of her best From the same author of the Brother Cadfael seriesExcellent whodunit once again I was surprised by who the killer was but that s the norm for me Will definitely read of this contemporary series by Peters as wellNow to get back to 12th century Shrewsbury and to Brother Cadfael s herb garden.
